006 - Cookie Card Back

The Cookie "sleeve" is actually just an alternate card back used during the Holiday Pauper Event from December 2018.

This is the event update posted from WotC from December 2018:

Holiday Pauper
"Happy Holidays from the MTG Arena team! Bring your deck of only commons and enjoy the winter scenery as you play!"

The image was found in the game's assets, and is simply titled "cookie".

This doesn't appear to be used in the game anywhere. It's name is "Metallic Arena" and I assume that it is an unused game asset file.

My guess is this is done in the same way that the "Basic / Metallic" guild symbol sleeves are. There is a lighting/glow effect that shows through the dark areas on the card, such as the logo, and gives the card a somewhat shimmer and the logo glows. It's not an exquisite though.

I don't know when this was introduced into the game, but my guess is it was one of the first early sleeves. If I find out otherwise, I'll update this. Please let me know if you have any info on this.

This default looking card back was similar to one used during the Arena Closed Beta period. The MTG logo was in yellow, and they had removed the Deckmaster wording from the bottom of the card.

I am not completely sure when this card back was used. The closed beta started on 12/4/17 and the open beta started on 9/27/18.
