Lafayette Quarry
Lafayette Co., FL
My apologies on this photo set. My camera died about 10 minutes into shooting, so the rest of the set was taken by my buddy. The smaller images are from my buddy's photo set.
This was a site we drove past and noticed a lot of cool abandoned things rusting away. The property looked clear, nobody tending it, so we went in for a closer look. It turns out it was all part of a large open pit mine of some type. (More photos in the re-visit photo set).
The pair of Mustangs were really cool as were the intact buildings still full of old office equipment from many decades past.
Everything had a number on it, so we figured it was probably for auctioning off equipment and scrap metal.
We wanted to go back and re-shoot this location at a later time, but the new land owners had moved everything over to a smaller side lot already, and knocked many of the structures down. The revisited gallery of this location looks completely different than it originally looked here at this time.
