Lafayette Quarry Revisited
This location has a confusing history according to the records I can find on it. It's changed hands several times and has been called several different names.
Whatever it's now called, it's an open pit limestone mine that may or may not be in use at the time of this writing.
This was the second visit to this site. The first visit had much of what you see spread out across a larger area. The new property owners appear to have moved everything to a small side lot. This actually made it easier for us to photograph, being in a much more condensed area.
Between the previous and current visits, you can tell that someone bought the mine and has started operating it again. There were signs of recent use of the equipment in the mine itself, fresh tire tracks, and a new office trailer in place.
Any location with lots of equipment is always a joy to shoot. There's so much to see.
