Super Snails Minion Upgrade Guide

Upgrading Troops for Maximum Damage

After increasing your Leadership, prioritize cloning and upgrading your strongest troops to achieve the highest possible damage output.

Determining which troops to upgrade can be complex and time-consuming, so this guide focuses on a quick and straightforward method to identify your top performers.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you have plenty of cloning speedups available — you’ll need a large number to complete this process efficiently.

  • It’s also recommended to remove all Minion Gear before starting. Some gear may artificially boost certain minions, potentially skewing your results.
    • Once you’ve identified your strongest minions, you can re-equip and adjust your gear as needed.

Decide What to Upgrade

  1. Enter the Nursery.
  2. Tap the small fridge located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Picture
Identify and Record Minion Power

  1. Tap on the Undeploy All button to remove all minions.
  2. Tap on Deploy All button to auto-add minions.

This process will automatically select the minions with the highest damage output.
Take note of the Minion Power value, displayed in the white cloud icon at the top of the screen.

Record this number — you’ll need it later to compare and measure your total power gain once the process is complete.

Understanding Your Auto-Deployed Minion List

When viewing your auto-deployed minion list, note that your highest-power minions appear near the bottom of the list.

In the example screenshot, minions are arranged from lowest to highest power, moving top-left to bottom-right.

It appears that auto-deploy ranks minions by total power, which may include a combination of Tier, HP, ATK, DEF, RUSH, and any equipped minion skins.
(This has not been fully verified — it’s based on observation.)

To optimize your lineup, focus on converting and upgrading your highest-power minions first.

For example, in the screenshot shown, I would prioritize creating the maximum number of Berserkers, followed by Nightmare Steeds, and continue in that order.

By producing more of these high-power minions, you’ll naturally push the weaker ones off the list, improving your overall army strength.
Picture

Note on Power Level Calculations

In this example, the Tomb Figure has lower ATK and RUSH compared to the Frost Drake, but it compensates with significantly higher HP and DEF.

This allows the Tomb Figure to survive longer in battle, resulting in minimal overall damage loss between the two despite the stat differences.

Upgrade Your Top Minions

Begin by upgrading any minions from your top three list identified earlier.
In this example, I’ll focus on Berserkers, Nightmare Steeds, and Imps.
We’ll revisit the bottom three minions later in the process.

After identifying which minions to upgrade, return to the main Nursery screen.

From there, tap the Snail Minion button located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Picture
Next, tap the small snail face icon located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Picture
Next, tap the Upgradable Minion button.

This will display a list of your next highest-power minions — these are the ones you’ll want to start upgrading first.
Picture
Start with your highest-power minion — in this example, that’s the Berserker.

For demonstration purposes, let’s pretend the Undead Turtles represent Berserkers.

Picture
My Berserkers are all Tier 8 (T8), but there are also some T4, T5, and T6 Berserkers that had been forgotten. If you don’t see them at the top of your list, scroll down until you locate them.

(Continuing with our example, these turtles still represent Berserkers.)

Take note of ATK, HP, and other stats, as well as the total power level displayed at the top. Higher-tier minions are inherently more powerful.

The goal is to upgrade all lower-tier Berserkers to T8. To do this:
  1. Add every lower-tier Berserker to your cloning tank.
  2. Upgrade them all, using any speedups you have available. Upgrade as many as your resources allow.

Once completed, repeat the same process for your top 2 and top 3 minions to maximize overall power.
Picture

Check Your Progress

  1. Return to the fridge in the Nursery.
  2. Tap Undeploy All.
  3. Tap Deploy All.

Next, compare your total power (shown at the top of the screen) with the number you recorded earlier.
It should be increasing!

Write down this new total power — we’ll continue comparing numbers between steps to track progress.

Minion Conversion – Focus on Top Minions

  • Now that your top three minions have been fully upgraded, the next step is to produce more of these high-power minions.

To do this, we’ll use the Conversion process:
  • Return to the main Nursery screen.
  • Tap the Limited Minion Conversion robot — the small blue floating robot located just behind Zuckie.
Picture
Select Minions for Conversion

The conversion interface has two tanks:
  • From (Input) Tank – place the minions you want to convert away (the ones you no longer need) in the LEFT tank
  • To (Output) Tank – place the minions you want to create (the new minions you want) in the RIGHT tank.
To make the process easier:
  1. Check your overall minion list in the main Nursery screen. Identify minions you have in abundance but no longer need.
  2. Select the highest-tier minions you no longer require.
    • Using higher-tier minions as input reduces the resources needed to upgrade the new minions after conversion.
Picture
For this example, I’ll select Slug Dragonlings.
  • They are all Tier 6 (T6).
  • I have a large quantity available, making them ideal candidates for conversion.
Picture
Review and Set Conversion Target
  1. You will now see the minions you selected for conversion in the left tank (From/Input).
  2. Next, tap the right tank (To/Output) to choose the minions you want to create.
Picture
Scroll through the Target (To/Output) list until you find the highest-power minion from your Top 3 list.
Picture
Confirm Conversion
(For this example, I can’t create any more Berserkers, so let’s pretend this Vampire represents a Berserker.)
  1. Once you select your target minion, the system will prompt you for the quantity to convert.
  2. Set the slider to your desired amount — typically, choose the maximum allowed.
  3. Tap Confirm to complete the conversion.
Picture
Review Conversion and Upgrade
  1. After selecting your minions, the system will display the conversion cost in W-Tads.
    • The cost is minimal compared to the time required to clone these minions, making conversion a worthwhile approach.
  2. If no further adjustments are needed, tap the Convert Minion button.
  3. Once conversion is complete, you will likely need to upgrade the new minions:
    • Add them to the cloning tank back in the main Nursery.
    • Use as many speedups as available to fully upgrade them efficiently.
Picture

Repeat Conversion for 2nd and 3rd Best Minions

After converting and upgrading your top minion, repeat the same process for your:
  1. Second-best minion
  2. Third-best minion
This ensures that all of your top three minions are upgraded and produced in maximum quantity, maximizing overall power.

Picture

Minion Conversion – Focus Beyond the Top 3

Once your top three minions are fully upgraded, shift focus to the next most powerful minions (the upper-left portion of your list).
  1. Repeat the conversion and upgrade process for your 4th-best minion, then check your total power to monitor progress.
  2. Do the same for your 5th-best minion. Check your status again.
  3. Continue this process until you have maxed out all your most powerful minions.
For example, in my own lineup, I ended up with 6 minion types, with Frost Dragons as the lower-priority minions and Berserkers as the strongest.
Tip: Periodically review your minion list. As you upgrade partners and gain more Leadership, ensure your strongest minions remain on deck and prevent weaker minions from replacing them due to neglect.
Picture

Final Note: Minion Availability
If you notice that you can only create a limited number of each minion, this is controlled by your Partners.
  • Upgrading a partner increases the availability of the minion(s) they influence.
  • Keep in mind that not all partners are equally valuable — it may not be worth upgrading a partner just to gain a few extra copies of your best minions.
