Saltwater Fish

There won't be many updates on this page. Since this is only a 12 gallon Nano Cube, there is not much room for additional fish. If I decide to get another, it will most likely be another clown fish to try and pair the existing one.

Sixline Wrasse "Linus" 5-6-08

Linus gets his name from all the Lines, or Stripes on his side. It was more original than naming him Stripe.

The Six Lined Wrasse is a good tank mate to the Clown Fish because both are extremely mild mannered and neither will bother each other or any other tank mates.

The Sixline likes to eat aptasia and various worms and spends most of the day hunting along the rocks for things to eat.

He sleeps curled up in a cave in the rock each night.

Clownfish (Occelaris) "Sweet Coron" 5-5-08

I picked him up from a local breeder. The wife named him after the Sanrio character Sweet Coron who is a bumble bee. We figured this name was fitting since he effortlessly bumbles and flutters around the tank. He is a misbarred clown as well, having a saddle bar around his center with only a single bottom spot on the right side (shown in pic).

Yellowtail Damsel "Ariel" 3-25-08

The Yellowtail Damsel was a pretty cool fish. I loved the coloring and marbled markings in the blue body and face of this fish. The personality was average for a fish and the Yellowtail Damsel reminded me very much of my Cichlid, Bart in the way it moved and behaved.

Ariel was doing just fine for a few weeks until I introduced a Clown Fish into the tank. Being that the Damsels can be territorial and aggressive, she immediately started to attack the clown. Since I liked the Clown quite a bit more than the Damsel, I decided that if worse came to worse, the Damsel would be going.

I separated the Damsel from the tank and put her in a container for a few hours to cool off. As soon as I put her back in the tank, she immediately started attacking the clown. Then she did something that I had never seen before, she tore into the Peppermint Shrimp. This fish had lived with the shrimp for a good several months without ever having any issues and suddenly it was ready to kill the shrimp. I immediate took the Damsel back out and called the LFS to see if they would take an aggressive Damsel. They said yes, so I got in the car and that was that.
